In December 2003, local benefactors donated the former Greenville County Library building and the surrounding land at Heritage Green in downtown Greenville to be developed into a children’s museum. The Children’s Museum is currently undergoing a $16.7 million capital campaign to transform the existing 79,000 square feet of building space into a world class children’s museum with eighteen indoor interactive exhibits. Outdoor learning environments that will stimulate curiosity and discovery will also be created.

As The Children’s Museum campaign committee volunteers, Board members and staff complete the major gift solicitation phase of the capital campaign, a community-wide effort is being launched to include the entire community in creating The Children’s Museum.

This project will create a safe, fun, hands-on educational environment dedicated to children, families and the community for many generations to come; and your help is essential to the success of this worthy community project.
